Polaris – The North Star, also known as Alpha Ursae Minoris or the Pole Star.
This the the end star in the handle of the Little Dipper.
The Earth’s Axis spins about this star, hence it can be seen year round by Northern Hemisphere observers. It is not the brightest star in the sky, but is visible to the unaided eye shining at magnitude ~2.0
