Description

The Great Planetary Alignment of 2016 – 5 Planets Aligned in the Morning Sky in Early 2016, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars, Jupiter, but you also have to count the Earth which would make for 6 planets visible in the Morning sky. Also visible are 3 bright well known stars, Arcturus, Antares, & Spica, & you may recognize the constellations of Scorpius, Virgo, Libra, & Corvus in this image.

The brightest object in the image is the Moon as it joined the Planets on the Morning of 01-30-2016 at 6:13am E.S.T. I captured this awesome alignment at my Friends home outside of Warrenton, Va., just before the clouds started to roll in.
