NGC-5139 Omega Centauri Photos – Globular Cluster Photos. Omega Centauri Cluster is the Grandest of all Globular Star clusters in the sky.
It orbits the center of our Milkyway Galaxy about once ever 100 million years. The cluster contains over 1 million stars, many old red and yellow giants stars spread across 350 light years. It is beleived that each star is only seprated by about 1/10 of a light year. It is located in the southern constellation of Centuarus, at a distance of 17,000 light years.
